the following conversation happened before i received my results…
uncle: what do you intend to do after o levels results?
me: go poly…
uncle: why don’t go JC?
me: i don’t think i can make it and i am not an academic person. probably will just fail A levels.
uncle: but thru jc you can get into uni.
me: they opening up alot of places for poly students now. and i mean alot as compared to the past
uncle: so what you gonna take in poly?
me: maybe aerospace.
uncle: why not animations(IT). it is quite popular. aerospace market is very small, very hard to find job.
i was getting really really annoyed.
me: the market is expanding. and moreover the pay is high and i have the interest. i don’t like animations btw.
great just great. i dont get why people just look down on poly students. yea those are the old thinkings when they feel that entering poly is really xiah sway thing and getting into a jc is a prestige. come on, times have changed and poly is getting really popular and seriously, i dont see the big damn deal of getting into jc by ‘’force'’ and fail the fuck out of your A levels. waste of 2 years.
oh and i dont see what’s the point of getting into a course that i don’t like and waste time and money on it. like asking me to take up animations in IT when i dont like animations for nuts and i think i will go crazy just creating a character. i can’t imagine myself having to attend lectures that i have no interests in, so dont tell me about having a career of the same case.
these two situations make me feel really fed up and just feel like screaming into their ears telling them :
For 1st situation: it is my choice! it is not as if by going poly i have no future! times have changed so please change your mindset too before you become one of those antique in the museum.
For 2nd situation: how about eating shit? eating shit is quite popular nowadays. how about committing suicide? jumping down the flat is quite popular nowdays based on the newspaper reports.
