I think haven’t blogged about shoes since that SBTG shoes. Not that you can remember anyway. Those who knows me, knows that I am a sneaker freak, a freak especially towards Nike Dunks.
My first dunk was back in Sec 2 bought by my aunty. I knew absolutely nothing about dunks nor did I know about the existence of Nike SB ( SkateBoarding ) at that time. I just loved the simple and neutral colour way until today and that, was the reason why I chose it. And it has served me well right to this very moment while I am typing this, although it seems like the sides are a bit torn already.

My second pair was in Sec 4 when my class and some other classes went for a geography fieldtrip in Perth. Our first stop was this shopping centre with a Nike Factory Outlet. Omg. That’s when I saw this Nike SB that I saw online. I practically mad because the shoes weren’t released in Singapore as far as I know.

Angus. This pair cost me $100AUD on the first day of the trip. Oh well…
Then the third pair was last year, 2006, in case you are still stuck in 2006 and thought “last year” is 2005, after the release of O level results. Yes right after the release of result, that very night when we went for celebration, I bought the shoes because my folks decided to reward me.

This is by far the most expensive pair because the details on it are crafted by laser. I won’t say it’s pretty, but I just like the details on the shoes.

Well, the designs on the shoes are suppose to show the activities of people in a park, hence the name of the shoes is “Urban Park”. Can’t really see it on the picture itself though. Meh :/
The fourth and fifth pair were also bought last year.

Brian Anderson

Purple Pigeon. I love this pair too. Love the suede and the nu buck material.
End of Nike dunks/SB collection here. Nothing of a big deal here and I still haven’t gotten Nike Diamond and Slam City dunks. Those are grails.
I’ve got a pair of Superstar Adidas and Osiris too. I am not a big fan of Adidas sneakers just to say, because it gives me blisters. The Osiris pair is the hardcore skateboarding shoes that really put Nike SBs down when it comes to the aftermath of long term skating in the shoes.
That being said, I am getting my sixth pair soon, hopefully.

Beautiful baby. Clear sole. Double colour stitching.
So anyway, last year, I signed up as a member in a sneaker forum and chatted with this particular sneaker head.
*Conversation written along the lines of the actual convo.*
Him: So when did you start collecting sneakers?
Me: Hmmm… 2003?
(I was thinking that since my first pair was in 2003 so I’ll just say 2003.)
Me:When did you started to collect then?
Him: This year (Which means year 2006). So you must have quite a lot of sneakers.
Me: Nah, not really.
Him: How many?
Me: Well… about 5 pairs?
(That 5 pairs includes the Adidas and Osiris, excluding the Purple Pigeon and Brian Anderson.)
Me: So how many do you have?
Him: 13 pairs.
O_O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, so I stupidly said that I started collecting sneakers since 2003 when there was actually about 1 year plus interval of the first pair and the second pair. So fking embarrassing please! OMG. And that time I chatted with him was because I was gonna buy that SBTG Asia exclusive Nike SB shoes and maybe can hook him up with it too(but he wasn’t that sure of buying it either). He is in the States and won’t be able to get it for retail price and eBay bidding will prolly kill because of the hype
My love for that shoes was some crazy shit. Until the very day of queuing up to buy it, the flame died. Which wass the ultimate -.-”’. I saw the real shoes on display that day and I realised the horrible quality of them. Seriously, I swear. The shoes were only on display but already had creases on it already. Like what the fuck. So I was like fuck it. I didn’t buy the shoes. You’ll ask how about that guy? Well, he didn’t even send me the money to buy the shoes in the first place, so I didn’t feel obligated in anyway, not like I’ve known him for a long time. Hahahahaha. =X
